Mission 02 26-2-10

Part One – To waste or not to waste?

"Don't you find it unusual that there is not a bolt of Autobots in sight?" Innocence kept track of the Decepticon laying waste on the city (or what was left of it). A familiar black and purple seeker shot overhead, firing lasers at dangerously unbalanced building.

Chunks of metal and concrete gave way, falling onto the ground and crushing the organics fleeing about. Innocence zoomed in at a particular large piece of rubble. He watched a female human desperately trying to move a rock twice her size off a male human. She was either dense or in denial to the present condition of her mate since the trapped human had expired kliks ago. Red fluid slowly spread out from the body, coating the female's footwear.

The female screamed and pushed at the wreckage even harder than before. It didn't budge and Innocence decided to stop watching her. Her action was selfless but foolish in his opinion.

Instead, he counted the number of wounded Decepticons in the area. Innocence restrained his sigh of annoyance. There wasn't an Autobot in sight and the human's military armada were tragically inferior to the Decepticons yet a good of number of said Deceptions were injured. He felt a sense of dread in imagining the condition of the other Deception soldiers scattered on this planet. Innocence could feel an ache growing in his processor at the thought and the amount of precious medical supply going to waste on injuries made from stupidity.

"It's amazing how they're still able to sustain injuries not inflicted by the Autobots but by their own." Innocence quipped dryly, "Excluding human weapons."

Thundercracker shifted his pedes, looking at a tank which was firing at a con. "Those things can still hurt us though."

"Yes but tanks don't cause broken limbs or cut wounds. The technology on this planet is truly pitiful and once we leave, the damages will be impossible to recover from." The white medic casually kicked a tank, sending it flying to another tank.

"I'm giving points for their numbers and determination though." Thundercracker fired his weapon at a persistent jet. The human piloted jet hastily tried to get away, only to be shot by a random seeker. Its burning remains plummeted to the ground and crashed into a human house.

"That could have been you, you know." Innocence teased, referring to the incident where Thundercracker had crashed through the roof of an outpost a meta-cycle ago.

"Why don't either of you just forget that?" The blue seeker hissed, glaring at the smiling medic. " Someone brings that episode up on every patrol I go!"

Innocence laughed a little, "Sorry,"

Something streaked by, a blur of black and purple before it transformed in mid-air. Skywarp landed on his pedes, scowling at his trine mate and the medic.

"What are you both doing here? Megatron gave us a free destroy-earth card and you're standing herenot destroying anything!" Skywarp whined.

"I kicked a tank," Innocence said in a dead-panned voice. "Then it hit another tank."

"I shot a fleshing's jet and it crashed into a fleshing's house unit." Thundercracker pointed at a still-smoking house.

"That's it?" Skywarp echoed incredulously, looking at the two back and forth. "That's all you did since we came here?"

Thundercracker shrugged, "I blasted a gas station with some humans inside and levelled a couple of buildings."

Skywarp looked less disappointed after he heard Thundercracker's account but it intensified when Innocence said nothing. Like a disapproving creator (Now isn't that a scary thought?), Skywarp frowned at the white Lamborghini.

"The higher-ups are gonna be happy with your report, Innocence." Skywarp warned, "They'll think that you're afraid of a little destruction..."

Innocence face-palmed and groaned out, "Mindless destruction is not the same with actual destruction, Skywarp."

"Megatron isn't going to see it that way," Thundercracker reminded him, "and neither would Shockwave, Soundwave or Starscream."

"That," Skywarp folded his arms, " and 'screamer(G1) is gonna have more ammunition against ya."

"Oh yes, how can I forget Starscream (G1)?" Innocence ended with a resigned sigh, "Is he still going on about the 'spark-bonded to an Autobot makes him a traitor thing' again?"

"Yup." Skywarp gave him a goofy grin. "'Course, his words doesn't mean anything since you've got a clean record. Not to mention you're popular mech and in Demolisher's good side."

"Soundwave's too, even if you're not in his squad," He gestured at the
Communication officer who was standing afar, monitoring their force's position. "But Shockwave's still waiting for you to impress him though."

Innocence shook his head, "I...rather not be in anyone's, apart from Demolisher's, good side. It makes me an easy target for some cons."

"True but that's Decepticon hierarchy for you. The more popular you are, the bigger the threat you are to higher command. To Starscream (G1), you're dangerous"

Thundercracker looked toward the city, "Frag, the force's thinning out."

"Oh dear, I'm going to be in trouble, am I?" Innocence let out a sigh, "Well, what's done is done. I suppose I'll have to-."

"Not if I can't help it!" Skywarp declared, his optics glimmering with glee.

His companions warily looked on, Innocence in particular since it was him that's going to be 'helped' by the slightly unstable seeker.

"Warp, just drop whatever's going on in the processor of yours, "Thundercracker looked between Innocence and Skywarp, and "I actually like him since he's not like the other medics."

"Why, thank you, Thundercracker." Innocence gave the blue seeker a serene smile, "I'm glad that those long hours of personally looking after you paid off."

"But 'cracker! That's exactly why I wanna help him!"

"Skywarp...."

"New orders," Soundwave appeared from beside Thundercracker, causing all of them (except for Innocence who already spotted him) "All Decepticons are to return to Cybertron." He said in his usual monotonous way.

"Effective immediately," The Officer threw an immaculate look at the still-grinning purple seeker before striding off.

"We're right behind you!" Skywarp called out to the retreating form before dropping to a conspiratorial whisper, "Let's go before everyone else does. If we play it right, Megatron would be happy that we decided to stay behind."

"We?" Innocence voice carried a hint of tenseness and alarm, an unusual trait for the ever calm medic. "What in Primus name do you mean by 'we'?"

"Skywarp, for primus sake, don't!" Thundercracker's shout caught the attention of a few nearby Decepticons. "Stop, Skywarp!!"

Innocence choked out a startle cry as Skywarp pounced on him. The height difference was miniscule but Innocence's frame was short of mass since he was built for speed and agility. Skywarp probably had forgotten about that little fact and knocked the medic to the ground.

"Bye TC! Say hi for Starscream (G1) for us!" Before Thundercracker could further protest, Skywarp and Innocence vanished in a blink of an optic.

"Oh frag," Thundercracker turned when he heard noises from behind.
His expression sank at the sight of Soundwave and Demolisher walking towards him. From the angry look on Demolisher's face and Soundwave...well, Soundwave was Soundwave but anyone could see there was a noticeable difference about him. It was not the same mech who passed by them moments ago. All in all, they had seen Skywarp teleporting off with Innocence and no doubt were wondering why.

Thundercracker muttered to himself, "Skywarp, I hope your plans don't screw up this time..."

"Thundercracker! Why the frag did Skywarp kidnapped my medic!?" Demolisher shouted furiously.

"Important query: Where to?" Thundercracker flinched when he felt Soundwave's presence in his mind.

Normally the intrusion would have angered him but the act was justified. Sadly though, Skywarp didn't mention where he was taking Innocence to in hope to sweeten up the medic's report so Thundercracker had nothing for the telepath.

...which was becoming a bad thing for all parties involved.. Slag, Thundercracker winced in his mind, this really isn't going to turn out well.

"Response: Agreed." Soundwave dipped his head, red visor glowing slightly. "Calculation: Situation worsening combined with no clue of the whereabouts of Medic Innocence and Seeker Skywarp."

"What! What do you mean by 'no clue' to where they are?!" Demolisher grounded out, "I'm not losing a competent medic to Skywarp's antic!"

"Skywarp isn't trying to get him killed," Thundercracker snapped.

"Oh?" There was a dangerous edge to Demolisher's voice, "Then you better explain the situation to me now or Starscream will be short of two seekers...."

Thundercracker recounted his story from the moment he left the space bridge to Skywarp warping somewhere with Innocence. As he drew close to the end, his audience sported looks of disbelief (Soundwave looked nonchalant but the odd glimmer of his visor stated otherwise)

"I'll have Skywarp's afterburners for this....and Innocence's skid plate! Megatron had given a direct order to destroy as much as we could and all he did was to kick a tank?"

"Innocence said it was pointless."

"Pointless but it'll save you from being thrown into the brig for insubordination." Demolisher pulled open a file from his subspace pocket, "However, Innocence has proven to be an exceptional medic plus we still need more medics with his kind of skills. At the very least, he'll get some light punishment, probably cleaning duty in the brig."

"Before or after they took off?"

"Before," Demolisher scowled and angrily shut off the file on Innocence, "With this little stunt, Innocence is going to get into some serious trouble if he doesn't bring something worthy to report to Megatron."

"Anyone has an idea what to do next?" Thundercracker glanced at his superiors back and forth. He watch them exchanged looks before Demolisher sighed and waved his servo's dejectedly.

Soundwave nodded before he turned towards the seeker.

"Suggestion: Report to Megatron. Explanation: Decision is his to make, whether we should find them or leave them."

"We all know what he's going to say...." Thundercracker looked to the spot where he last saw his trine mate and Demolisher's medic.

"What's done is done," Demolisher walked towards the direction of the space bridge, "Let's go, Megatron will be expecting us."

The location of the space bridge was a few kliks walk away but Thundercracker felt better in the skies. Activating his thrusters, he ascended into the cloudless blue which was slowly becoming a mixture of red and orange.

Looking far off to the distance, he wished his medic friend and his trine mate a silent good luck before flying towards the space bridge.

Teaser

"Hey Innocence, I think I know why there's no Autoscum on this planet...." Skywarp looked around them in a stunned revelation.

"What was your first clue? The bodies of mechs strewn about or the-"An ominously creak caught their attention, followed by something heavy whistling downwards. The noise was coming from above Innocence.

"No!" Skywarp threw himself at his companion; knocking Innocence to the ground (again) but saving the other from being crushed by the remains of their kin.  Behind the purple seeker, Innocence caught a glimpse of their attacker. Its red beady eyes –watery-looking and bulging out of their sockets- peered at them from beneath the thick greens.

Skywarp whirled around, still standing defensively in front of Innocence. His weapons crackled with energy. He fired at it without restrain.

A cursed flew out of his lips when he realized he could not access his blasters, hidden beneath the armour on his back. A quick analyse told him that the gears were stuck, most likely caused by numerous falls.

Innocence whipped out his blade instead, the blue-glowing weapon poised in front of him as the organic slowly crawled towards them. The continuous shots by Skywarp bounced off the creature's armour, setting alight their surrounding instead. Yet, the thing continued its slow pace, its meaty eyes fully focused on their prey. It opened its jaw and something green pooled at the bottom of its mouth bubbled vigorously.

A shot of alarm seared through his spar. It was going to shoot something at them and Skywarp was right in front of him!

"Look out!" Innocence's warning came a little late as the green projectile hurtled towards them, Skywarp in the line of fire...

End of Part One of Mission Two
I was suppose to write a report about causing earth destruction and it turned into this instead. I'm still thinking about part two so it'll be a while before I'll post up the next bit.

Mission 01 follows the current timeline (meaning the edited Mission 01 2010). Mission 02, not so much.

I've already drew my character 'Innocence' on a sketch book but it's less than good. Figuring out how to draw my char. on Photoshop...with a mouse.

All in all, constructive criticisms are duly appreciated. Flames will be used to inspire me to write crack fics instead :XD:

Hasbro owns them (Oh, you know who :XD:)
